WEBMay 8, 2022 · Yes, the Nuvi 255W is still working. If a GPS that old isn't updated, the maps will become out of date, which means it won't know new locations of various businesses, nor new street names, nor any new roads. (Even with current maps, roads to new developments may still be unknown.)

While I personally have a collection of old Garmin GPSes, my daily driver is the Garmin DriveSmart 66, a current model at the time I write this.
