Angelenos can hail a robotaxi with the Waymo One app starting Tuesday. There are about 100 taxis in the Los Angeles fleet — but they don't drive freeways.

Waymo One, the driverless ride-hailing app, is now fully available to much of greater Los Angeles after the robotaxi service previously started offering rides in LA to a limited number of people on a waiting list.

Waymo announced on Tuesday that it launched its autonomous ride service in the Los Angeles area to everyone. The robotaxi player said Waymo One customers can take fully autonomous rides 24 hours a day around 80 square miles of Los Angeles County through Santa Monica,
