The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden is planning $9 million in modifications and renovations, including what it calls a "statement" entrance and new, free-access gardens. It said in a Thursday news release that it already has raised more than $8 million for the improvements and invited the public to contribute the remainder.

The money will go towards making various improvements to the guest experience, including opening a new free-access garden and a new lobby.

The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden announced on Thursday the launch of a capital campaign for a $9 million upgrade. The “Welcome, Gather, Grow” Campaign aims to raise over $9 million by summer 2025 to renovate the existing building and add more garden space.
