The New York Jets made two moves Wednesday to bolster their defensive line. The team announced a trade with the Cleveland Browns to acquire Jowon Briggs and a 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 sixth-rounder.

The new-look Jets should be more competitive under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn. The former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator has the energy up in Florham Park, but going into the season with Justin Fields under center means any and all optimism has a ceiling.

If Justin Fields doesn’t work out for the New York Jets, their quarterback of the future may be in next year’s draft.
