WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal review of helicopter safety concerns launched after the deadly midair collision in Washington, D.C., has identified a rash of concerns about the potential conflicts between air tour helicopters and planes at the Las Vegas airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration said on Tuesday it is taking action to prevent collisions between helicopters and passenger planes around the busy Las Vegas airport, citing significant safety issues.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it has taken a number of steps to reduce the risk of collisions between helicopters and planes near Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas after an initial analysis uncovered “several immediate issues.
