SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (KFVS) - Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe is scheduled to attend a few events in the Heartland this week. It’s all part of a two-day visit. His first stop was at the Federal Courthouse in Cape Girardeau for a naturalization ceremony on Wednesday, August 20.

This summer, Missouri became the first state to eliminate capital gains taxes while keeping its state income tax. Maryland is doing the opposite.

Gov. Mike Kehoe again commented on redistricting in Missouri at a news conference Tuesday, but the governor said he has not made a decision about whether he will call a special session on the topic.

The Kansas City Star reported that Kehoe discussed redistricting with multiple top Republicans in an early August meeting. Alex Riley, R-Springfield, the majority leader of the Missouri House of Representatives, was in that meeting and said he thinks it’s “pretty likely” Kehoe will call a special session.
