A teenager found unconscious on top of a New York City subway train early Friday morning has died. New York City Police were called to the Queensboro Plaza Subway Station at 2:47 a.m. and discovered the unresponsive 15-year-old male, a NYPD spokesperson said.

This latest incident comes a month after another 14-year-old boy was critically injured while riding on top of the subway in the Bronx. Police told PEOPLE at the time that the teenager was found unconscious and unresponsive with traumatic injuries at the Baychester subway station.

A 15-year-old boy could be the latest victim of subway surfing, a dangerous practice of riding on the roofs of train cars that has lured New York City youth for decades.
