Wissa is keen to join Newcastle and has been frustrated by Brentford’s tough negotiations after reportedly claiming the club promised to allow his transfer last summer.

Newcastle have reopened talks with Brentford over an improved £40m deal for striker Yoane Wissa.

The add-ons are understood to be worth up to a further £5m which could take the total to £40m.
