Thirty-two seconds into the third period of Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ottawa Senators, Mitch Marner showed why he was Mitch Marner.

Simon Benoit scored on a slap shot from the point at 1:19 of overtime to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators and a 3-0 lead in the first-round series.

The Senators got on the board first with a Claude Giroux goal on the power play in the second period. Matthew Knies knotted the score at 1-1 with a goal before the second intermission. Matthews put Toronto ahead for the first time early in the third period before Brady Tkachuk leveled it all up at 2-2 with an even-strength goal.
