Police say the man built the hoax device out of cardboard, paper, and tape before leaving it outside the NYPD’s Times Square facility.
The free spectacle, “Founded By Broadway,” will be held in Duffy Square on West 46th and West 47th streets between Broadway and Seventh Avenue on Sept. 7 starting at 11 a.m., rain or shine.
A Bronx man is facing charges after Times Square was shut down Monday as police investigated a suspicious package. The New York City Police Department said 26-year-old Desean Maryat was charged with placing a false bomb/hazardous substance and making terroristic threats, among other counts.
According to FOX 5, Caesars Palace is flirting with a $5.4 billion casino in Times Square that is being backed by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. New York has opened licenses to three potential down-state casinos to operate throughout the five boroughs.
