Southwest adds Fresno to San Diego service
The big picture: Southwest Airlines announced Thursday that it will offer nonstop flights daily between Fresno and San Diego International Airport. The route will begin on Oct. 2, and Southwest will join Alaska Airlines as the only carrier to offer nonstop service to San Diego.

Southwest adding more nonstop flights between Milwaukee and a California destination
On Tuesday, the airport announced that the Dallas-based airline plans to expand its service between Milwaukee and San Diego this fall. Specifically, service between the airports will be offered five days a week, Thursday through Monday. Previously, Southwest offered this route seasonally only on Saturdays.
