Five women say they were raped by former Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed when they worked at the luxury London department store. The BBC has heard testimony from more than 20 female ex-employees who say the billionaire, who died last year aged 94, sexually assaulted or raped them.

More than 20 women told the BBC that Mohamed Al-Fayed sexually assaulted them before the former Harrods owner died in 2023.

We all watched each other walk through that door thinking, "you poor girl, it's you today" and feeling utterly powerless to stop it.'

Twenty women accused Fayed of sexual assault, five of whom said he raped them while they worked at Harrods, the high-end London store he owned. He died in 2023.

One woman who said Al Fayed raped her at his apartment on Park Lane when she was a teenager branded him a “monster, a sexual predator with no moral compass whatsoever”, describing the staff at Harrods as his “playthings”.
