Srinagar, Sept 18 ( KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated Jammu and Kashmir on its historic voter turnout in the first phase of the assembly polls. "Congratulations J&K for a historic voter turnout! I would like to thank all voters, who exercised their franchise in the 1st Phase," Sinha said on X according to KNS correspondent.

According to the EC, the tentative voter turnout for the 24 assembly seats spread over seven districts stood at 59 per cent. This figure may go up slightly as some of the polling stations are located in remote areas of the Pir Panjal Mountain range.
