Two experienced hikers were rescued after an hourslong ordeal in which they became stranded in waist-deep snow and whiteout conditions on New Hampshire's challenging Mount Washington.

Snow showers have brought snow accumulating to northwest Oregon and southwest Washington overnight and early Monday morning.

The avalanche bulletin is for the Washington Cascades from the Canadian border to the Columbia River, as well as Mount Hood in northwest Oregon and the Olympic Mountains in western Washington.
