NYC activates Winter Weather Emergency Plan; storm set to drop several inches of snow
The advisory comes ahead of a winter storm set to deliver accumulating snow of 3 to 5 inches from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Emergency Management notes that there is a chance this snow could mix with sleet and potentially freezing rain.
"An accumulating snowfall remains likely Saturday evening into early Sunday morning," the NWS in New York City posted on X.
Saturday's winter storm is shaping up to bring more snow accumulation to New York City than initially anticipated.
Governor Kathy Hochul has urged New Yorkers to exercise caution as two significant winter storms are set to impact the state.
Weather Advisory has been issued for all of Western New York and northern Pennsylvania from 4 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m.
