What German soldiers really thought of British troops in WWII
German soldiers entered World War II believing British troops were weak and unwilling to fight. Through battles from Dunkirk to Normandy, that belief was tested, challenged, and ultimately overturned.
An abandoned village which was evacuated in World War Two has opened to the public, allowing visitors to explore the derelict ruins. In 1943, some 150 people living in Imber, Wiltshire, were given 47 days' notice to evacuate their homes so that the village could be turned into a military training area for troops.
Unexploded bombs dating back to past wars have been discovered in Serbia and around the world in recent years.
