The U.S. State Department updated a Level 2 travel advisory for the Turks and Caicos Islands, warning travelers about strict firearms laws.

The U.S. State Department recently issued a Level 2 travel advisory, warning travelers to exercise increased caution in the Turks and Caicos Islands due to crime.

The U.S. State Department has upgraded its travel alert related to a popular Caribbean tourist spot. The British territory of Turks and Caicos is under a Level 2 “exercise increased caution” warning due to crime, as well as warnings about travelers in possession of firearms and ammunition.

The U.S. Department of State issued a Level 2 advisory to exercise increased caution for American travelers going to Turks and Caicos.

The State Department also warned travelers to check their luggage for stray or forgotten weapons or bullets, with local officials detaining U.S. citizens if such laws are broken.
