Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. received the news on Tuesday that he lost the quarterback competition to Daniel Jones and will be the backup in Indianapolis in 2025. As a result, his future with the organization is up in the air. Richardson’s agent, Deiric Jackson, spoke to ESPN’s Stephen Holder about what the future could hold.
The Indianapolis Colts have made their decision on their starting QB, with head coach Shane Steichen naming veteran Daniel Jones as the Week 1 starter during a press conference between preseason Weeks 2 and 3.
The Colts keep saying they'll be patient with Richardson, but it's hard not to believe their patience has run out.
"The Colts recently named Daniel Jones as their starter for the 2025 season, which underscores the team's big need for a true QB of the future," Yates wrote. "The ship seems to have already sailed on Anthony Richardson Sr. Allar has ideal 6-foot-5, 235-pound size, good mobility and a rocket arm.
Daniel Jones was named QB1 on Tuesday. Jones won the top spot over Anthony Richardson, who the Colts selected with the fourth-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
