Bryson DeChambeau opened up on the PGA Tour's ban from the Napa warm-up, saying LIV supports his Ryder Cup prep participation fully.

DeChambeau, mired in some controversy since joining the Saudi-backed LIV Golf, was left off the 2023 Ryder Cup team and the 2024 Olympic team, despite being one of the U.S.’s best performing players. Esentially, he didn’t have enough points since LIV Golf events aren’t recognized.

While Bryson DeChambeau said LIV Golf would be OK with him playing a PGA Tour event to prepare for the Ryder Cup, the tour won't let it happen.

Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley wants his team to play together in a PGA Tour event before the United States hosts Team Europe at Bethpage Black Course in New York beginning Sept. 26.

The tournament also had strong Thursday-Friday coverage on Golf Channel, which averaged 502,000 viewers, a 19% increase from 2024. Golf Channel’s Saturday and Sunday lead-ins to the main broadcast also saw gains, averaging 885,000 viewers (+84%).

Bryson DeChambeau has become the first LIV Golf player to automatically qualify for the US Ryder Cup team, securing his spot in Keegan Bradley’s squad. To be fair, DeChambeau was already a lock for the team regardless of how things played out in the weeks leading up to the BMW Championship.
