After throwing only 55 pitches in three innings against the Blue Jays on Thursday, Clarke Schmidt exited with what the Yankees described as right forearm tightness. On Friday morning, the team placed the righthander on the 15-day injured list.

He said he’s been dealing with soreness in his arm since his June 4 outing against Cleveland.“Earlier on in the game it felt OK,” Schmidt said. “As the game progressed it sort of tightened up a little bit on me.
