Whoopi Goldberg has suggested that a bakery in a Republican part of New York refused to take her birthday order over her left-wing views.

Whoopi Goldberg celebrated her 69th birthday on the Nov. 13 episode of “The View,” but the party ended with a rather shocking revelation that a bakery refused to sell the EGOT-winner desserts because of her political beliefs.

On the Wednesday, November 13 episode, the co-host claimed that a Staten Island bakery refused to make her the Charlotte Russe desserts because of her left-leaning political beliefs. Goldberg shared the bold allegation after explaining that the desserts, which she wanted to bring in for everyone at The View, were a tribute to her mother.

A Charlotte Russe [cake] has no political leanings, and the place that made these refused to make them for me,” Goldberg said on “The View” Wednesday.

After Whoopi Goldberg alleged that a bakery, which was later identified as Holtermann's Bakery in Staten Island, refused to make her birthday dessert because 'perhaps they did not like my politics,' the owner responded,

Holtermann's Bakery clarified that equipment issues — not politics — caused delays in fulfilling Whoopi Goldberg's dessert request.
