Brentford manager Keith Andrews says striker Yoane Wissa will not be included in the squad for the team’s opening Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on Sunday amid uncertainty over his future at the London club.

Newcastle United's pursuit of Brentford star Yoane Wissa has been dealt a blow, according to a recent report. The Magpies have been rumoured to be keen on securing Wissa's services this summer as they aim to bolster their attacking line-up, especially in light of Callum Wilson's exit and the uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak's future.

Brentford have already added one new attacker in Dango Ouattara, who joined from Bournemouth for a club-record £42.5m fee. The Burkina Faso international can play on either side or as a number nine and is viewed as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo.

Andrews said he would like Wissa to be part of the squad but added it is "very hard to know" what will happen in relation to his future.
