Norway seizes ship with Russian crew
Norwegian authorities on Friday said they seized a commercial ship with an all-Russian crew suspected of damaging an undersea telecom cable in the Baltic Sea.
OSLO (Reuters) - Norwegian police said on Friday they had arrested a Norwegian ship with an all-Russian crew on suspicion of involvement in causing damage to a fibre optic cable in the Baltic Sea. The arrest took place at the request of Latvian authorities, the police in the northern Norwegian city of Tromsoe said.
The ship belongs to a Norwegian company and was en route from St. Petersburg to Murmansk, in the Arctic Circle
Norwegian authorities have detained the Russian crew of a Norwegian-owned vessel in connection with the severing of an undersea fiber optic cable between Sweden and Latvia. The detention was carried out at the request of Latvian authorities.
