Ohio’s Senate president is pushing back against criticism of a bill that would scale back parts of a voter-approved marijuana legalization law, claiming that the legislation does not disrespect the will of the electorate and would have little impact on products available in stores.

Current regulations for medical and adult marijuana use laws have been called into question after Bill 56 was recently passed in the Senate. This bill calls for personal cutbacks and stricter penalties for recreational use outside of an individual’s residence.
RIVERSIDE — A bill proposed to change the recreational marijuana law passed in the Ohio Senate on Wednesday. Senate Bill 56 passed with a vote of 26 to 9. As previously reported on News Center 7, Senator Stephen Huffman (R-Tipp City) proposed the bill on Jan. 28.
Kentucky's medical marijuana program is currently live, but patients won't find any product for sale in the Commonwealth just yet.
