The particularly dangerous situation alert is relatively new to Southern California but has been issued before the recent wildfires that have caused devastation across LA County.

A winter storm watch will be in effect Sunday for much of eastern Pennsylvania, including the Poconos. In Carbon and Monroe counties, 6 to 10 inches of snow is possible, the National Weather Service said Friday afternoon when issuing the watch.
