The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team has issued a Weather Impact Alert due to the potential for highly disruptive snow squalls in Colorado's mountains and quick bursts of snow in the Denver area.

High wind warnings and red flag warnings are in effect for southern Colorado on Friday for what will be a very windy day.

These snow squalls happen quickly and can rapidly reduce visibility, causing very dangerous travel conditions. The arctic cold air will move through Colorado between Tomorrow and Thursday.
