Fewer than six weeks remain in the 2025 MLB regular season. Pretty soon the various postseason and awards races will really heat up, and very meaningful games will be played every night. Here are three trends worth keeping an eye on as baseball heads into the stretch drive.

Which brings us to the Colorado Rockies and how a realignment could affect the team. The Rockies are the odd duck geographically in MLB. They are the only team fully in the Mountain Time Zone, while their division consists of three California teams and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
No changes are made to the defense, and it doesn't matter as Dodgers get 18 hits in rout of the Colorado Rockies.

Tonight, they will look to win Game 2. The Rockies have not beaten the Dodgers in two consecutive games in a single season since winning three in a row at Dodger Stadium Oct. 2-4, 2022; they have not won two in a row against the Dodgers at Coors Field since June 27-28, 2022.

Just to be clear, last night’s Colorado Rockies walk-off of the Los Angeles Dodgers was glorious. Seriously, it would have been great under any conditions, but given how bad the Rockies have been in 2025, it was doubly so. But after cleaning up the spilled Gatorade and tossed sunflower seeds, it’s important to maintain perspective.
