Popular map services such as Google Maps, Apple Maps and Bing Maps have all changed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America in the U.S.

The body of water formerly known in the United States as the Gulf of Mexico is now listed for U.S.-based users of Google Maps as the Gulf of America.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said the label should only include the waters under US jurisdiction, not the entire gulf.
