A 31-year-old Sedgwick County man was arrested Wednesday by federal and local officers on suspicion of first-degree murder in a 2021 killing, Wichita police Capt. Aaron Moses said.

The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has arrested a 31-year-old Sedgwick County man in connection with a 2021 homicide near 19th and Jackson.

A shooting in northeast Wichita early Tuesday seriously injured a man in his 40s. It happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of N. Poplar.

A 24-year-old man is in jail on suspicion of second-degree murder following a fatal stabbing Monday near Pawnee and Oliver. Wichita police say 51-year-old Brian Edwards of Wichita died at a hospital after he was stabbed in the street around 7:27 p.m. in the 4100 block of East Whitney Lane.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita police are searching for the suspect who stabbed a 56-year-old man Friday evening near downtown.
