Louisiana attorney general Liz Murrill said this week that Danette Colbert should not have been eligible to have been out on probation when she encountered KC sportscaster Adan Manzano shortly before his death.

A woman charged in connection with the death of Kansas City sports reporter Adan Manzano should not have been on probation at the time, according to the Louisiana Attorney General.Manzano was found dead in his hotel room in February.

Colbert was on probation when she was arrested last month in Jefferson Parish on fraud charges in the death investigation of Kansas City reporter Adan Manzano who was seen with Colbert at a Kenner hotel and later found dead. Manzano was in town to cover Super Bowl LIX.

The move by Liz Murrill's comes after Colbert spent weeks in the media spotlight following the Feb. 5 death of 27-year-old Adam Manzano, a reporter from Kansas City, in a Kenner hotel room.

Danette Colbert was sentenced to probation in a case with allegations of drugging, fraud and theft. Telemundo reporter Adan Manzano was found dead months later.
