The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver John Metchie from the Houston Texans for veteran tight end Harrison Bryant, a person with knowledge of the trade said.
Metchie caught five of eight targets for 45 yards while adding 23 yards on one kickoff return in Houston's 20-10 preseason loss to the Vikings in Week 1. Philadelphia officially announced the move on Monday, reuniting Metchie with DeVonta Smith and other former Alabama teammates.

The Eagles traded for Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Metchie could become the team’s No. 4 WR this season. Johnny Wilson, Darius Cooper and Ainias Smith have each played well during training camp, but it wasn’t enough to stop Philadelphia from adding more depth.
