An area of low pressure formed off the coast of Jacksonville on Friday and could develop into the season’s next tropical depression or storm, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Heavy rainfall is possible through portions of west-central and southwestern Florida through early Saturday. Heavy rainfall is also possible through the coastal sections of the Carolinas beginning later on Saturday, NHC said. “An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system later today,” The NHC said.
