The Associated Press gained an unlikely ally in its battle with the White House over what to call the Gulf of Mexico.

Associated Press journalists have been blocked from places like the Oval Office and Air Force One because the organization has declined to use the term ‘Gulf of America.’

The Associated Press remains excluded from White House Events because "it just refuses to go with what the law is" around Gulf of Mexico name change.
