State Area is in for another round of winter weather as a storm hits the region on Saturday. Snowfall could be moderate at times before gradually changing over to sleet, freezing rain and plain rain throughout the evening and overnight.

Several inches of snow, freezing rain and rain are ahead in Western New York this weekend, part of a storm system predicted to sweep into New York Saturday morning. The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter weather advisory for much of western New York for Saturday.

Another weekend winter storm is approaching which will bring snow, and dangerous icy conditions to Massachusetts.

The National Weather Service issued an updated winter weather advisory at 2:52 p.m. EST on Saturday valid for Sunday between 1 a.m. EST and 7 p.m. EST for Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale and Berrien counties.

Winter weather warnings for the weekend have been issued for 27 states, with up to 2 feet of snow expected. Freezing temperatures may pose health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups such as infants and older adults. Snow can disrupt travel and create dangerous driving conditions, while winter storms may also cause power outages.

Winter storm warnings were issued for parts of northern Michigan, though much of Metro Detroit remains under a winter weather advisor.
