Buffalo Bill's Wild West returned to Europe in December 1902 with a fourteen-week run in London, capped by a visit from King Edward VII and the future King George V.

On May 9, 1887, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show opened in London, giving international audiences their first glimpse of the American Wild West. The show would go on to entertain audiences throughout Europe.

By the early 1900’s Buffalo Bill had more than a dozen Wild West Show competitors. While hunting buffalo for pay to feed railroad workers, he shot and killed 11 out of 12 buffalo, earning him his nickname and show name “Buffalo Bill.”

Oct 29, 2021 · William Frederick Cody (1846-1917) led a signal life, from his youthful exploits with the Pony Express and in service as a U.S. Army scout to his globetrotting days as a showman and international icon Buffalo Bill.

As a lifelong cowboy, he enjoyed working on ranches in Wyoming, Utah and Nevada, as well as Kansas and Oklahoma. Up until the late 1950's, he continued to gather wild horses out west. Then he and Anna started ranching on their own around Cedar Vale. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 2005.
