Bramhputra River System The Brahmaputra River originates from the Angsi Glacier near Mount Kailash in Tibet, where it is called Yarlung Tsangpo. It flows eastward in Tibet, then enters India through Arunachal Pradesh, where it is known as Siang/Dihang. After joining with Dibang and Lohit, it becomes the Brahmaputra in Assam. Floods have once again wreaked havoc in the north-eastern Indian state of Assam. The region routinely suffers due to flooding after heavy rainfall at this time of the year.
