Fire destroys Jacksonville home Thursday morning

Here is a follow up video from the gas meter fire yesterday. Our firefighters were able to shutoff the gas flowing towards the home, but were not able to shutoff the main gas line. Gas continued to seep from the ground for several hours until Summit was able to pinch off the main gas line. The entire gas meter ended up melting. 🔥 Gas fire safety check today 🔥 Quick inspection turned into a mini service — blew off the dust, gave everything a once-over and brushed up on the correct service procedure. All running safely and as it should 👍 Most importantly, I also made sure the customer had a working carbon monoxide (CO) detector fitted. A small device, but it can literally save lives.
