Père Lachaise Cemetery is one of the most famous cemeteries in the world, located in Paris, France. Opened in 1804, it spans over 110 acres and is the largest cemetery in Paris. It's named after Father François d'Aix de La Chaise, who was the confessor to King Louis XIV.The cemetery was designed to be more like a garden than a traditional graveyard, with winding paths, trees, and beautiful sculptures. It was initially unpopular because people didn't want to be buried so far from the city center.
